Pool Manager

College individual or older who has had previous Life Guard experience. Additionally, the individual must exhibit good managerial qualities, either through previous Roycefield employment or via substantiating letters from previous employers. Certified Pool Operator and Red Cross Life guard certifications are required. Certifications must be effective by pool opening and must remain valid through Labor day.


Life Guard

Red Cross Certified Life guard in good standing (certification must be completed by pool opening and remain valid through Labor Day). The position reports to the Roycefield Pool Manager. Lifeguards also perform other duties, which include but are not limited to, pool entrance gatekeeper, and general pool and grounds maintenance. May be assigned other duties as necessary.


Swim Instructor

Swim Instructors needed for Swim Lesson Program. Instructors must be able to demonstrate knowledge of basic water safety and correct stroke technique for all four basic strokes. The position reports to the Swim Lesson Coordinator. Swim Instructors work approximately 1.5 hours per day for 6 weeks.

Social Activities Positions




Social Junior Activity Coordinator

The Social Committee is looking for 2-3 students to run the weekly daytime social activities. Responsibilities will include planning and hosting the weekly craft and game days. Candidates must be a minimum of 14 yrs. of age and be able to commit to working 3 hours per day two days a week for July and August.

Swim Team Positions




Head Swim Coach

College individual or older who is swimming or has swam competitively. The individual must have prior coaching experience, a willingness to serve in the position for a minimum of 2 years, and have excellent communication skills. The head Coach is responsible to attend all swim practices and meets, and make up all workouts and meet lineups. The position reports to the Roycefield Booster Club Board.


Assistant Swim Coach

College individual or older who is swimming or has swam competitively. The individual should have prior coaching experience (preferred), a willingness to serve in the position for a minimum of 2 years, and have excellent communication skills. The Assistant Coach is responsible to attend all swim practices and meets. The position reports to the Head Swim Coach and the Roycefield Booster Club Board.


Junior Swim Coach

High School student who is willing to swim for the Roycefield Rapids and has his/her lifesaving certification (preferred). The position is a developmental position requiring the individual to help coach and lifeguard the younger swimmers during practice, and assume some responsibilities during swim meets. The position is under the direct control of the Head and Assistant Swim Coaches with guidance from the Roycefield Booster Club Board.

Roycefield Hiring Policy


Employment will be offered first to existing employees with good ratings from the previous season, followed by pool members in good standing and children of past pool members, and finally non-Roycefield candidates. Special consideration will be given to Lifeguards and Swim Instructors that can work through Labor Day.

Due to the nature of the Head and possibly the Assistant Swim Coach positions, the assignment will be filled by the most qualified candidate, Roycefield or non-Roycefield. Current-year salaries will be reviewed at the March board meeting. Wage ranges and criteria for each position will be available to all pool members upon request and will be included in all job offers. Applicant will be notified in April if they are or are not being offered a position for the upcoming season.
