General Rules

  • ALL MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN-IN and PAY FOR ALL GUESTS AT THE TABLE JUST INSIDE THE MAIN GATE UPON ARRIVAL TO THE POOL EACH DAY
  • All members and guests shall abide by the pool rules and cooperate with the club personnel in maintaining proper order.
  • Violation of the rules may result in suspension of the pool privileges for such a time as determined by the Board of Trustees
  • In cases of suspension, no refund of any dues will be made.

Pool Rules

  • Swimming is permitted only when a lifeguard is on duty.
  • Children are not to be left within the fenced-in kiddie pool area without adult supervision; an adult must remain in the fenced in area at all times.
  • All accidents of any kind must be reported to the pool staff immediately.
  • All first aid must be administered or supervised by the pool staff.
  • All persons must shower before entering the pool.
  • No running in the pool area at any time.
  • No horseplay at any time! This includes towels fights, physical contact of any kind on the club grounds, chicken fights, roughing during water games, pushing, dunking, etc.
  • Disruptive behavior and/or foul language is not allowed.
  • Only one person allowed on the slide at a time.
  • Children not toilet trained must swim in the kiddy pool, not in the main pool. NO EXCEPTIONS !
  • Only nerf type balls and items provided by the club may be used in the pool with approval by the staff, and only in the deeper end with consideration for all.
  • No Smoking allowed on Pool grounds; Roycefield is a smoke-free environment.
  • No gum chewing allowed in pool; gum must be disposed of properly within a napkin or piece and paper and placed in a trash can for disposal.
  • Parents must assist their young children in the lavatories.
  • Roped-off lane is for lap swimmers only.
  • Rescue equipment is for use only in emergencies.
  • Alcohol is permitted for those age 21 and above as long as it is consumed sensibly and respect for others is maintained at all times.
    • Any alcohol must be keep in the picnic area.
    • Persons suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
      • will not be allowed in the pool
      • may be asked to leave the premises.
  • Do not sit or climb on the handrails, fence, or ladders. Do not hang on lane lines.
  • Do not wring out towels or wet suits on the locker room floor.
  • Return all toys and other pool equipment promptly after use.
  • Food is not to be left on picnic tables for future consumption. Before you leave the picnic tables, all items must be disposed of, and area must be cleaned up so that others may use it.
  • Parents must supervise their children at all times on the club grounds.
  • Diving is allowed in diving well area of the pool only.
  • Keep safe, use good judgment, have fun, and respect the water and others at all times.
  • Any persons showing evidence of skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal, or ear discharges or any communicable disease shall be refused admission.
  • Persons with excessive sunburn, open blisters, cuts, or bandages shall be refused admission.
  • No dogs or other animals shall be allowed on the premises, except Certified Service dogs.
  • Glass containers are not allowed outside of coolers at any time; liquids from glass containers must be poured into a plastic or paper cup for consumption. Non-breakable containers are recommended over glass ones.
  • Bathing will not be permitted during an electrical storm.
    • The Pool Policy is that the pool will open 30 minutes following the last observation of thunder or lightning.

Flotation Policies

Personal Flotation Devices (PFD)

  • Personal flotation devices (PFD): US Coast Guard Approved jackets or vest (Type 2-5) MAY BE WORN ANY TIME.
  • All PFD's except those noted above, may only be used on Float Day and only if the person using the PFD is accompanied by an adult or guardian who enters the water and maintains close supervision of the PFD wearer.
  • Persons wearing PFD's except US Coast Guard approved jackets described above, may NOT use the diving board or slide.

Float Day

  • Float Day occurs every Wednesday during the REGULAR SEASON
  • Any flotation device is allowed in the pool on Float Day, however, Roycefield reserves the right to limit the number of devices.
  • All persons must climb on and off any flotation device while in the water, away from the stairs, ladders, & sides.
  • All flotation devices must be kept out of the diving area and away from the slide.
  • Any device that is attached to the body for flotation is considered a personal flotation device and members must adhere to the rules concerning them.

Parent Responsibilities

  • All members must assume responsibility for their children, baby-sitters, and guests, concerning the familiarization with and enforcement of all Club rules.
  • Parents desiring to teach their children to swim are requested to do so without disturbing other Club Members. If children scream and panic they will be required to leave the pool. Such instruction should be limited to the shallow end of the pool.

Children

  • All Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Children age 13 or the summer before they enter 9th grade must be accompanied by an adult unless they can demonstrate to one of the lifeguards the ability to swim one full length of the pool.
  • Babysitters may be assigned the responsibility for children under 13 years of age if the babysitter will be at least entering 9th grade in the fall. The guest fee must be paid for the non-member babysitter.

Guest Policies & Fees

  • Treatment of guests is covered under the Roycefield Membership & Guest Policy
    • Guests are limited to 5 visits per pool season. Special arrangements may be made for out-of-town visitors and babysitters by contacting the Pool Manager.
  • All guests must be accompanied by a Club Member at all times. Guests must be signed-in and paid for upon entrance to the club.
  • Having more than 7 guests at one time is considered to be having a party and therefore, please refer to the section on Party Policies (next section).
  • Guest fees are as follows:

    *After 5:00 pm, fee is $3.00 per person (weekday ony)

Party Policies & Fees

  • Any member wishing to bring more than 7 guests in one day is considered to be having a party.
  • All parties must be approved and scheduled by the Pool Manager. Upon approval, the Pool Manager will supply a Party Form to the party host which must be completed and returned no later than 2 days prior to the start of the party.
  • Only one party may occur at the club at one time.
  • You should schedule your parties as far in advance as possible. This will help ensure the times and dates you want are available.
  • Parties may occur on any operating day except for days when it may interrupt the normal operation of the club as determined by the Pool Manager.
  • Parties may last up to 4 hours in length.
  • Parties may have up to 30 non-members
  • Party Cost (to be paid the day of the party, prior to the start of the party):
    • 8-20 Non-members $50.00
    • 21-30 Non-members $60.00

  • The member(s) who hosted the party are responsible for cleaning up any area used by the group at the conclusion of the party.
  • The hosting member is responsible for all the actions of their guests.
  • You may use the picnic tables and have a BBQ (Roycefield will supply the charcoal). Or you can order food or bring your own in.
  • A list of the Non-member guests (30 or less) must be supplied to the Pool Manager at least 2 days prior to the start of your party (see Pool Manager for form to fill out)

Picnicking

  • Charcoal, Lighter Fluid, and Matches are provided by the club upon request
  • Picnic tables and grills cannot be reserved and must be shared. Tables and grills must be cleared and clean when not being used.
  • Food is to be eaten only in designated areas. NO FOOD is allowed on the concrete pool deck area, or in grassy areas adjacent to the pool deck.
    • Food and drinks are permitted in the snack area (behind the bathhouse) and picnic area. When done, please clean-up trash and remove any uneaten food.
  • Drinks are permitted in the fenced-in area.
    • Although glass containers are allowed, their use is discouraged; non-breakable ones are recommended. Glass containers are not allowed outside of coolers at any time.
